CARE GROUPS FAQ’S

1.  Will we have Family Care Group meetings every week?

Answer: No. Family Care Groups will meet every 1st and 3rd week.  On the 2nd and 4th weeks of the month, beginning in the fall we are offering perfecting process classes and  Family Care Group Leader training after Bible Study.

2.  Will I have to attend church on Wednesday and Thursday nights?

Answer:  No. Your Family Care Group will meet on either Wednesday or Thursday night.  You do not have to attend both nights.

3.  What are we going to do in the groups?  Will I be forced to speak?

Answer:  Your level of involvement is your choice. Every group will follow the same outline designed by Pastor and the Community Leaders.  We will discuss the bible study lesson from the week before, review church announcements, prepare for upcoming events, celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, have a time for prayer, praise reports and plan to win our family, friends and neighbors to Christ.

4.  Now that we have Family Care Groups does that mean Pastor O’neal will no longer teach bible study?

Answer:  No.  Pastor O’neal’s hand will guide all bible studies and her presence will always be felt.  She has special plans to teach along with Pastor Hutchins many exciting and life changing messages. Family care groups will meet during the second half of the service.

5.  Sometimes I bring a friend or family members to visit bible study with me, can they come to my “Family” or small group?

Answer:  Visitors will be allowed to join groups that are not full on the night that they visit.  We will make every effort to place them in your “Family” if the group is not full.  Even if your group is full, we will find a group that they will enjoy visiting.  Maybe this is a great time for you to encourage a family members or friends to make the commitment to join KCC!

6.  I want my friend to be in my group but he/she is not here for recruitment what can I do?

Answer:  We appreciate your concern for your friend.  Please ask them to call membership services so that we can get them connected to a “Family”.

7.  What should I do if I am not sure if I want to join a Family Care Group?

Answer:  Please take no more than 2 cards during recruitment and take a few days to pray about joining a group.  After a few days, we ask that you please make a decision and call the group leaders on your two cards and tell them your decision.

8.  Why does the Group Leader need my name and telephone number?

Answer:  Your contact information is needed to because we want to make sure that everyone is connected and no one left out.  And if you join their group, they are going to want to keep you informed about the next key steps to being connected to the “Family”.

9.  What will my child be doing while I am in my Family Care Group or class?

Answer:  The nursery and children’s church schedule will not change.  However, Teen members will be allowed to join a Family Care Group designed just for them!

10.  What do I do once I have joined a group?

Answer:  Wear your “I’m Connected” button during the recruitment process so that everyone will know you are a member of a FAMILY.

11.  If I have a concern about small groups, who do I contact?

Answer:  If you haven’t gotten connected to a Family yet, please call membership services.  If you are a member of a family, please contact your Family Leader or Community Leader.

12. What do the Family and Community Leaders do?

Answer:  The Community Leaders are members who have been chosen by Pastor O’neal to plan and manage this ministry.  They are available to assist the Family Leaders and the members with any questions they may have about the process.  The Family Leaders are responsible for leading a small group, maintaining the flow of group discussion, being an extension of the Senior Pastor by staying in touch with group members and praying for them, as well as seeking the Lord daily for the blessing of God on the group and its goals.

13.  How can I become a Family Leader?

Answer:  Pastor O’neal believes that every member has the potential to become a Family Leader.  We pray that out of every Family, the member gains a desire to lead their own small group.  We look for faithfulness to God and the vision, church attendance and Godly character in any Family Leader candidate.  If you desire to be a Family Leader, please call your community leader so that they can give you instructions for how to join Family Care Leadership Training classes.
